Place the cutting into the hole already made in the planting medium trying not to knock any of the rooting hormone off of the stem. Gently push the planting medium in around the stem, do not pack to firmly.
When finished placing cuttings into the container, move container to a protected area and keep the planting medium moist. Most planting mediums retain water well so be careful not to overwater. In 3 to 4 weeks you should begin to see new growth and the cutting can be moved to larger pots and planted in good potting soil. They will need a little more care before planting in the garden.
